Flush Your Friends!

The second project from Mediatonic Labs, Flush Your Friends is a Jackbox-style social party game designed for friend groups to play within Fortnite Creative. One of your party is selected as the Lord of the Loo and must answer a multiple-choice question. Everyone else has to guess what they would pick. Get it right and climb the leaderboard, but get it wrong and you'll get flushed!

I joined the FYF team once they had completed their prototype and were heading into production, taking the Game Lead role. This basically meant:

• Being a vision holder and champion for the game to execs and C-suite folks
• Filtering feedback from various stakeholders to ensure it didn't contradict with our goals
• Managing the backlog and sprint goals to ensure we were focusing on the most valuable features to our players
• Making lots of quick decisions to keep everyone unblocked and on the same page
• Representing the team in discussions with other departments, such as marketing, video, and more.
• ...and about a million other things!

I also cast and directed the voice-over recording session and contributed some script lines and questions to the game. I can't take much credit for the idea or vibe, but I was delighted to be asked to join a team that had a game that was so different from every other experience in Fortnite Creative — and especially one that had such a distinct tone. (Oh, I do love talking about tone!)
