This talk, which I gave at AdventureX 2019, charts my journey with creating my first gay character (K.C. from Murder by Numbers), and the mistakes I learned along the way. But really, it's about the weight of representation, and the realisation that the struggle doesn't end once you "get in the room."
I'm very proud of this talk, and I think its style represents me pretty well, but I was blown away by people's reaction to it at the event.
I was asked to talk at the Ukie Student Conference back in 2014 (!!!) and was given the theme 'Business Models in Flux' which, to be honest, sounded incredibly dull. This was my attempt to weave something interesting from that... hempen thread.
I won't lie — I haven't watched this for a long time and I have no idea what I say in it. It's most likely horrendous. I'm only including it because this page looked bad with just one entry on it.
